Description

AA is a voluntary fellowship of men and women from all walks of life who meet together to attain and maintain sobriety.

The primary service of AA is the local weekly meeting.  Each group is autonomous, organising itself according to a series of twelve principles common to the entire organisation and which form the basis of AA’s 12-step recovery programme.

Meetings are held across the Bradford District and can be either open or closed.  Open meetings are for alcoholics and their families and/or friends and closed meetings are for alcoholics only.

Meetings can take different formats, the main ones being: open speaker – members tell their stories; closed speaker - same as for open but for alcoholics only; open discussion – one member speaks briefly and then leads a discussion; closed discussion – same as for open but for alcoholics only.
